Gingrich wins big in South Carolina

Here is the bottom line.  Newt Gingrich is probably not the best man for the job of President – although I can’t see him doing any worse than Obama.  Gingrich is self-centered, pompous, narcissistic, a womanizer, a hypocrite and generally not a great politician (AKA not electable in a National election).

However, and here is the bottom line, there is little doubt in my mind that he is intellectually superior to President Obama.  I think Newt is a deep thinker, maybe even a certified genius based on his I.Q.   He is a great debater who is quick and generally accurate with facts, sharp as a tact and even lets some frustration (based on the ignorance of his opponent) come through to the public.  In a debate, Newt is very likable.

I believe it is his skills as a debater as to why Newt Gingrich is gaining momentum as the primaries shift to Florida.  Life-long Republicans, Tea Party sympathizers and many independents do not want to see another round of boring debates littered with predictable talking points (SEE: Obama versus Romney).

What real Republicans want is a knock-down, drag-out, televised fight over the ideology of true right leaning principles (strong military, less government, accountability of social programs) versus the hand-out entitlement-based country which we currently live in.

It’s this hope of having a meaningful national debate about the true direction of our country that is creating a surge of support for a man who probably can’t unseat Obama.
